Horologe — Acceptable Use Policy
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all use of the Horologe platform at
https://horologe.innovations-beyond.com (the "Platform"), including its web and
native clients, APIs, and integrations.
By using the Platform, you agree to follow this AUP. We may suspend or terminate access for activity that violates it, with or without notice, at our reasonable discretion. [REVIEW]
2. General principle
Horologe is a private cataloguing tool for personal watch collections. You are solely responsible for the content you upload and how you use the Platform. You must comply with all laws applicable to your activity — including, without limitation, laws relating to consumer protection, intellectual property, privacy of other individuals you photograph or describe, customs and import regulations on luxury goods, and tax reporting obligations on collectibles you buy or sell.
3. Prohibited activity
You agree not to use the Platform to:
Catalog property that is not lawfully yours to possess — including stolen watches, watches bearing altered or removed serial numbers, or counterfeit timepieces represented as authentic. [REVIEW]
Coordinate the sale or transfer of stolen or counterfeit goods. Horologe is a private ledger, not a marketplace; using it to launder provenance for illicit sales is a hard violation.
Impersonate other collectors, brands, or service centres. Don't post another person's serial numbers, paperwork, or photographs as if they were your own.
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users. The Platform's collaboration features (shared collections, invited members) exist for trusted use.
Abuse the Platform's technical surface. No automated scraping that ignores the documented rate limits, no attempts to bypass authentication or share-link expiration, no penetration testing without prior written consent, no using the Platform to host malware or phishing content.
Use the Platform to violate intellectual-property rights. Don't post copyrighted dial photographs, manufacturer brochure scans, or service manuals you don't have the right to distribute.
4. What Horologe is not
Horologe does not:
- broker, escrow, or otherwise facilitate purchases or sales between users;
- verify authenticity of timepieces catalogued on the Platform;
- provide insurance, appraisal, or service of any kind;
- assume custody of any physical property.
The Platform stores records you choose to enter. It is up to you to use those records responsibly — for example, to support an insurance claim or to demonstrate provenance to a buyer.
5. Enforcement
If we believe you have violated this AUP, we may:
- contact you for clarification;
- restrict the affected feature (e.g. suspend a share-link);
- suspend or terminate access to all or part of the Platform;
- preserve and disclose information as required by law.
We will use reasonable judgment. Where the violation is unambiguous (e.g. clearly stolen-watch listings), we may act without prior notice.
6. Reporting
Report suspected violations to [email protected].
7. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the Platform or by email to active members.
