Horologe
About

Built for collectors, not auctions.

Horologe started because the available options were either a marketplace pretending to be a catalogue, or a spreadsheet pretending to be a database. We wanted the patient, editorial middle.

What we believe

A serious watch collection deserves a serious record. References, calibres, complications, dimensions, provenance — the details that separate a piece of jewellery from a piece of horology — should live somewhere they can be read again ten years from now, in a format that doesn't require trusting a third party with the keys.

Horologe is not a marketplace. We do not list other people's watches, accept bids, broker transfers, or take a cut of a sale. The platform's job is to be the most careful catalogue you have ever kept — and to stay quiet the rest of the time.

Privacy is the default. Share-links are revocable and redacted unless you opt in, link by link. Your records aren't indexed for search engines, sold to data brokers, or used to train models.

Why horology

Mechanical watches are objects of patience — designed, lubricated, regulated, cased, and finished by hand. A perpetual calendar that will function correctly for another century is sitting in someone's drawer right now, unloved, because nobody kept a record of its servicing.

Horologe exists to be the record. A well-kept catalogue extends the useful life of a watch by giving the next custodian — the buyer, the heir, the watchmaker — everything they need to keep it running.

Who's behind this

Horologe is built and operated by a small, independent team. We are not VC-funded and not chasing the next online watch marketplace. We use the platform ourselves, for our own collections.

If you want a marketplace, there are excellent ones. This is not one of them.

A private ledger built for the watches you actually own — kept the way collectors keep notes, not the way a marketplace keeps inventory.
